Dignity Home Care Policies for Caregivers

1. Code of Conduct
1) Understand and honor Dignity Group’s mission, vision, and values.
2) Respect co-workers, clients and their family members.
3) Respect who you are and what you do as a professional caregiver.
4) Protect company’s reputation and property.
5) Always remember punctuality and courtesy.
6) Always practice hygiene and sanitation.
7) Promote team spirit and cooperation among your peers and be a responsible member of the Dignity Group family.
8) Caregivers are not allowed to contact clients privately. Any coordination of the service has to be done by the company.
9) Caregivers are required to check emails everyday and log in Dignity Home Care’s administrative system every evening to receive new service request, schedules and to update service records.
2. Privacy and Confidentiality
1) Protect private information of co-workers, clients and their family members. Do not talk to others about private information except with informed consent as necessary.
2) Protect the confidentiality of clients’ record and company’s information in all forms. Caregivers must return all records and documents to the company within 2 days after the termination of the service or employment.
3) Individual caregiver’s private information will be fully protected by company. The company may use caregivers’ photo and profile on its website or other media to promote its services.
3. Job Description
As a caregiver, you provide quality professional care services to people in need at their homes. The services may vary from client to client but most common services are:
- Meal Preparation
- Room Cleaning (not outside of the window, no plumber’s or electrician’s work)
- Laundry (clients’ own laundry only)
- Kitchen Cleaning (including inside of refrigerator once a week)
- Personal Hygiene (including bathing)
- Personal Care
- Help with Medication
- Mental Care
- Record client history
- Blood Pressure Monitoring
- Blood Sugar Monitoring
- Other home support services
- Palliative Care
4. Quality of Care
1) Punctuality is a must. Caregivers must show at work on time.
2) Follow instructions and procedures on the handbooks from health authorities, Dignity College’s textbooks, and training workshops.
3) Care with compassion, integrity and excellence.
4) Quality of care will be supervised and evaluated by company.
5. Working Hours
1) Because clients’ needs are different, caregivers are expected to work on flexible hours.
2) In case of illness or family emergencies, caregivers need to call company at least 4 hours ahead of your work schedule (as soon as possible) to cancel.
3) Caregivers are required to report their own time sheet (working hours) on every 1st and 16th of each month to the company so that the company can bill clients accurately and pay caregivers after.
6. Wages and Benefits
1) As employees, caregivers are the most valuable asset of Dignity Home Care.
2) Management of Dignity Home Care is committed to treat its employees and clients with utmost dignity, respect and compassion.
3) Caregivers’ salary is hourly based. The pay days are 10th and 25th of each month (may postpone when it is a weekend or holiday).
4) Dignity Home Care follows government’s regulations and legislations, such as overtime pay, holiday pay, annual vacation, etc.
7. Support and Report
1) Caregivers are required to report clients’ health conditions, emergencies and situations as warranted.
2) Dignity Home Care fully supports and values caregivers as family and do its best to provide an enjoyable working conditions for its caregivers.
8. Termination of Employment
Employment between caregivers and Dignity Home Care can be terminated by either party following labour standards rules and regulations.
Volunteer services to seniors from Dignity Home Care

We are proud to provide volunteer services, such as companion, blood pressure test, massage (neck, foot) to seniors at adult day centers, community senior centers, etc.
